Spray extraction: deep cleaning you can see and feel

For decades we have relied on the proven American spray extraction method – the most thorough way to clean carpets, textile floor coverings and upholstery. Here is why.

The Clean & Fresh team carrying out carpet cleaning with the spray extraction method on site

The principle

Washing, not wiping – deep within the fibre

With spray extraction, a precisely dosed cleaning solution is sprayed into the fabric under pressure and extracted again at the very same moment by powerful vacuum – together with dirt, allergens and odours.

The result: cleanliness that does not merely shine on the surface but comes from deep within – and lasts considerably longer.

  • Suitable for almost all fibres

Wool, synthetics, blended fabrics – the method is tailored to each material.

  • Professional machines, professional products

High-performance extraction equipment and certified cleaning agents.

  • Proven in the hotel industry

The same method we have used to look after hotels and ships for over 25 years.

Your benefits

Why we swear by this method

Spray extraction combines thoroughness and gentle fabric care like no other method – four reasons why we have stuck with it for decades:

  • Deep action instead of cosmetics

While shampooing often only treats the surface, extraction cleans right down to the backing.

  • Low-residue & gentle

Detergent residues are extracted along with the dirt – no sticky deposits that attract new soiling.

  • Fast drying

The powerful suction removes most of the moisture immediately – surfaces are back in use quickly.

  • Hygienic & allergy-friendly

Dust mites, allergens and odours are physically flushed out rather than merely masked.

Step by step

How spray extraction works

Spraying

A cleaning solution matched to the material is sprayed finely and deeply into the fibre under pressure.

Loosening

The solution surrounds dirt particles, grease and odours and lifts them from the base of the fibre.

Extracting

In the same pass, the machine powerfully extracts the solution together with the dirt – right down to the depths.

Finishing

The pile is groomed upright and the result is checked – leaving noticeable, hygienic freshness.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about spray extraction

How long does drying take after cleaning?

The powerful vacuum extracts most of the moisture straight away. Depending on the material, pile height and room climate, carpets can usually be walked on again after a few hours, and upholstery and mattresses can be used again after a suitable airing period. We will give you a specific estimate on site.

Which materials is spray extraction suitable for?

For almost all textile fibres – wool, synthetics and blended fabrics. We tailor the cleaning solution, pressure and temperature to each material. Delicate pieces such as oriental rugs are assessed beforehand, and we test for colour-fastness in an inconspicuous spot.

Which cleaning agents do you use – are they environmentally sound?

We work with certified professional cleaning agents, precisely dosed and matched to the material in question. Because the solution is extracted again in the same pass, hardly any residue remains in the fabric – good for the fibres, the indoor air and allergy sufferers.

How does your cleaning differ from a hired machine from the DIY store?

Our professional extraction machines work with considerably higher spray pressure and stronger suction than hire machines. That means deeper cleaning, less residual moisture and no detergent residues that attract new dirt. Add to that over 25 years of experience with every kind of material and stain.

How noisy and disruptive is the work on site – and what does it cost?

The machines produce a working noise comparable to a powerful vacuum cleaner. All we need is access and a power socket; we work swiftly and leave everything tidy – in the evening or at the weekend if you prefer. The cost depends on the area and material; simply request a free, no-obligation quote.
